Benefits and Uses of Wholesale Glow Sticks

Friday, July 29th, 2011

Glow sticks, when bought in bulk, are available at wholesale prices. As these are used frequently in many situations like parties, celebrations or emergency conditions, keeping a handful of them will never make you run out of the stock when required.

Benefits of wholesale glow sticks
Some benefits of purchasing glow sticks in wholesale are:

  • Cost-savings: Glow sticks generally are inexpensive. And if you purchase them in wholesale, you will get them at unbelievably low prices. For instance, a single 6” glow stick costs around $0.86, but when the same is bought in bulk (say more than 25 pieces), you can get each one at around $0.50 only. As you increase the quantity, the price will decrease. You can get the same at around $0.42 if you purchase more than 1000 pieces. Wholesale purchase is profitable both to retailers and normal public.
  • Always in hand: Purchasing glow sticks in wholesale is the best way to ensure that you have them at the right time. You need not run around different stores or purchase them in a hurry at higher prices at the last minute.
  • Longer shelf-life: The shelf-life of glow sticks mostly ranges from 1 to 4 years. This period can be further extended when proper storage conditions are maintained. Hence, you need not worry even if you are left with some of them from the wholesale pack, as you can store and use them in future as per the requirement.

Uses of wholesale glow sticks
Glow sticks make their need felt in wide range of situations, right from parties, outdoor activities to emergency situations. Here are some of the situations in which these items are used in large quantities.

  • Night parties: Various glow items add a scintillating effect to the night parties. Bulk of glow sticks, necklaces, swords, wands and other novel items can be used either as fun accessories or for decoration. Different light-up products and toys can serve as the best party favors for your guests.
  • Fund raising events: Glow sticks are considered as the cheap and best fund raising tools. Various light-up products like glow necklaces, bracelets, rings and other items also act as attractive takeaways in fund raising events. They can be sold at parades, carnivals, school events, parties, concerts or any other places to raise funds.
  • Emergency situations: Glow sticks are the best alternative sources of light during emergency situations, especially during natural disaster evacuations. Sudden onset of natural disasters like hurricanes, tornado, and earthquake end up in huge damages. Rescue operations by doctors, rescue workers and others in dark need reliable and long-lasting light sources. Bright colored glow sticks are very much helpful to handle such emergencies or mishaps. They can also be used at homes and workplaces during blackouts.
  • Camping: Camping at night is an exciting experience. A camping trip may need bulk of glow sticks for lighting the area. They also serve as the best safety tools. Hence, make sure that your backpack contains enough glow sticks.

Purchase glow sticks from reputed online providers to save costs and to get good quality products.

Managing a Fund Raising Event

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Fund raising events not only bring in funds for your organization, but also raise awareness about your noble cause. However, managing a fund raising event requires significant energy and effort. Organizing these events needs correct planning, promotion and management. Here are few tips which will help you in effective management of fund raising events.

Establishing guiding principles and goals
Before starting a fund raising event, you need to be clear about the goals you need to achieve through the event. You need to know how much money is needed to fulfill the goal. Apart from this, you also need to be clear with your plan, course of action and scope of the fund raising event. Create a project plan with clearly defined goals; roles and responsibilities of each participant.

Choosing the right event
An appropriate event should be selected keeping the cause in mind. Some popular events include auctions, dinners, raffles, athletic events, arts and crafts exhibition, cheer leading contest, ball room dance contest, 5K run or walk and fashion shows. Also check how you will make money from these events – through sale of tickets, sponsors, sale of items, auctions, door prizes, etc. This will help you in designing your strategy in a better way.

Selecting event volunteers
It is very difficult to organize the whole event by yourself. Taking the help of volunteers makes the task much easier. Ask the members of your organization to participate. You can also get volunteers from the local community by contacting them, describing the purpose of the event and the ways in which they can help. Assign roles to volunteers such as treasurer, organizer, manager, etc. based on their strengths. Encourage participants to set and achieve personal as well as team goals.

Planning, budgeting and advertising
Fund raising events need proper planning and execution. Prepare a planning work sheet and instruct every volunteer to execute it properly. For budgeting needs, you can make sponsors as partners. Manage the money carefully that you receive from these sponsors. Allow them to bear the costs of hiring the venue, marketing costs, refreshments, etc.

You should market your event in such a way that your cause is highlighted. Make use of fliers, announcements at community gatherings, posters at local shops, internet, custom imprinted glow sticks, press releases, etc. to promote your event. Proper planning and promotion enhances awareness about the fund raising event and its cause.

Takeaways – cheap but attractive products
It is always good to offer takeaways at the fund raising events. They convey ‘thanks’ to the participants and donors for making the event successful; hence don’t overlook them. Keep aside little amount of money to buy cheap but attractive takeaways, like glow products. You can offer various glow products such as, glow sticks, glow wrist bands and bracelets as takeaways at the event.

A well planned fund raising event has a very good chance of making donors open their purses. However, you need to be flexible, as things may not go as the way you planned. Be prepared for the unexpected also.

Different Occasions in Which Glow Sticks are Used

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Glow sticks are amazing party accessories which bring life to the party. They lift up the spirits of the party, bringing in more fun and entertainment. These hand-outs stand up to their name, adding glow to various kinds of celebrations, festivals and events.

Glow items are surely a hit among all groups of people partying. The wide range of designs, shapes, sizes and colors, available in glow sticks, make them easily customizable for any party. Some of the biggest celebrations have glow sticks as compulsory additions. Let us know about any events, where glow sticks are favorite accessories.

Glow-in-the-dark birthday parties

Glow sticks are valued additions to night parties. They make glow-in-the-dark parties colorful with their glow. They not only act as fun accessories, but they can also be used as decorative items in glow-in-the-dark birthday parties. Glow accessories like glow balloons, horns, headbands, flashing space guns, glasses, necklaces, bracelets, cheer sticks, blinking hand clappers, etc. can be used. Games with glow sticks are also great fun and can be conducted in kids’ birthday parties. Glow sticks glowing in different colors in the dark give an entirely new and energetic feel to the party.

Wedding and reception parties

Wedding and reception parties are grand events. White glow sticks are mostly used for weddings. The bride and the groom can also have some pink colored glow wear, such as glow necklaces or bracelets, to look different. Glow items of different shapes can be used as center pieces. At night receptions, glow barware can be a huge attraction. Using glow candles, glow flowers and glow sticks inside pools can enhance the decoration of wedding parties.

Fourth of July

Glow sticks are part of celebrations on the 4th of July. Blue, white and red glow sticks are mostly used on this day. Children, instead of using sparklers, can use blinking glow sticks. Fireworks, which may prove unsafe, can be replaced by different colored, shaped, sized, flashing glow items, which make the event even brighter.

Halloween parties

Halloween parties without glow sticks are very dull. Among the various color glow sticks, orange colored glow sticks are used traditionally at Halloween parties. Various glow novelties such as glow t-shirts, specific body lights, glow skull glasses, flashing hats, glow pins on dresses, devil horns, glow skeletal dress, etc. can just double your fun.

Fundraising

Fundraising events are conducted for a good cause. Hence, the fund raising products used in these events should be popular yet cheap. And what can be more popular and highly attractive than glow sticks. In some fundraising rallies, glow sticks are also used as luminaries. Yellow colored glow sticks are mostly used in school fundraising parties.

Glow sticks themed parties are becoming very popular these days. Especially in night time parties, glow sticks are great sources of colored light. So the next time you are planning to arrange a party, make sure that you have glow sticks on hand.

We had this recent comment from a customer in Denmark, Maine.

Thank you for the great service, wonderful product and honest pricing. We had our annual Concert in the Park and fireworks this past weekend and our church youth group decided to sell glow necklaces as a way to earn some money for a couple of projects they wanted to do. They purchased 200 assorted glow necklaces to raise $100 for some projects they wanted to do and did it in a way that everyone at the event enjoyed. The parents liked them better than a sugary treat, and it helped make the whole event that much more memorable for all! (more…)

Hi, I’m Sylvania and I would like to to say Awesome! I ordered Glow Necklaces for a Middle School Mardi Grass party, and they came in two days. The delivery was so fast that I didn’t have time to check in the confirmation email that I’d ordered the wrong color, but since the price was excellent I went ahead and order another box of a different color, and again got it two or three days later. This time I emailed a correction on the quantity and it was fixed right before shipping. (more…)

Charity night golf scramble

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Another great fund raiser that is often overlooked is holding a night golf event. Instead of having the traditional charity golf event, you should consider holding a night golf scramble. Night golf is played after dark, using glow sticks as boundary markers. Specially made night golf balls using glow sticks are used in replacement of traditional golf balls. Some organizers place 6″ or 12″ glow sticks every 25-75 yards depending on their budget. Illuminating the green is simple using a 12″ glow stick for the flag stick and either a glow badge or glow necklace coiled up for the cup itself. Check out more details on setting up a night golf scramble by visiting our dedicated section for night golf supplies.
