Glow Necklaces – Popular Night Time Party Items

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

Glow necklaces are one of the popular glow accessories. These attractive and funky accessories generally are available in single and assorted colors and can match with any kind of outfit, giving a cool appeal to the person wearing them. Further, they can even be used as decorative items in night parties. You can decorate your tables and chairs by outlining them with glow necklaces.

This article helps you know more about glow necklaces and why they are considered as popular night time party items.

Glow necklaces
Glow necklaces are circular tubes filled with nontoxic chemicals, which when activated emit energy in the form of light. The chemicals inside the glow necklace will undergo chemiluminescent reaction which emits colorful light but not heat. As they do not emit any heat or sparks, they can be safely worn on the body. Glow necklaces emit light till the chemicals are used up.

Everyone loves glow necklaces – from kids to grand parents
Glow necklaces are a hit among people of all age groups. Wearing glow necklaces is fun and exciting for kids. Since they are colorful, bright, highly comfortable, light weight, and cool they can be used safely by the kids in night parties.

Teenagers are more likely to go with these glow necklaces as they are fun, trendy, attractive, and economical. They can be easily matched with their outfits. Both boys and girls can use them as trendy fashion accessories in parties, pubs, clubs and raves.

People of all age groups can wear these glow necklaces for parties and other events. Moreover, these glow necklaces are of great help when worn while playing night golf, fishing, jogging in twilight or cheering your favorite team in a game.

Available in different colors and sizes
Glow necklaces are available in single colors like green, blue, orange, pink, purple, red and yellow. They are also available in multi colors like red-white-blue, red-green-blue, purple-green-yellow, etc.

Every color has its specific use like pink can be worn on Valentine’s Day or weddings, orange on Halloweens, red-white-blue on Independence Day, and yellow in emergency situations as it is brighter.

In general, glow necklaces are 11 inches or 22 inches in length with a varying diameter of 5-6 mm. The amount of chemical also varies with the size and color of the necklace.

Nontoxic and nonflammable
Glow necklaces are very safe to use. The chemicals used in them are nontoxic. Even if the chemical comes in contact with the skin due to any leakage in the tube, it causes no harm. But it is always better to keep them out of children’s reach as their skin is very much sensitive and they might get irritated easily.

Glow necklaces are nonflammable too. No matter how hot the surrounding temperature is, they do not produce any fumes or fire. Even if the tube is punctured or broken, they are absolutely harmless. However, it is always better to dispose the glow products once they are used.

The credibility of the retailer, from whom you purchase, should also be considered as few retailers sell cheap glow sticks made from recycled plastic which may cause harm.

Look great with other glow products
Glow jewelry, particularly glow necklaces ultimately give a fashionable look in the night parties. You can make yourself standout at a night party by adorning glow necklaces along with other glow products like glow bracelets, bunny ears, and eye glasses.

Glow necklaces can be used for various purposes in parties – as party favors, decorative items and costume jewelry. Moreover, they are cheaper in price compared to other glow products. This has made them popular in fund raising events, Halloween parties, night parties, Fourth of July celebrations, etc.

Glowing Easter Egg Hunt

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Tired of planning the same community Easter egg hunt year after year? Surprise the children with a night time Easter egg hunt using glow sticks! Popularity of nighttime Easter egg hunts has been increasing over the past few years as glow sticks have become cheaper.

Supplies needed for a glowing Easter egg hunt

Easter egg assembly

Assembling the glowing Easter eggs is simple. Remember the light intensity of glow sticks fade over time. If you are planning a large nighttime Easter egg hunt, make sure to have some volunteers on hand to help with stuffing the eggs, assembly line fashion works best. We recommend activating the glow sticks (stuffing the eggs) as close to the event as possible.

  1. Stuff the egg with candy.
  2. Take the glow bracelet coil it up as small as possible. Once the glow bracelet is coiled up as small as possible insert it into the egg.
  3. Tape the egg shut, this step might be optional depending on the egg. Some eggs are made to cheaply and tape is necessary to keep the egg from popping open.

Safety first If this is your first time planning a nighttime Easter egg hunt, make sure you have plenty of supervision. Giving a glow necklace or bracelet to each participant is a great idea that helps you keep a visual on all the kids.  You can find links to all the glow sticks used on this article below:

Orange Glow Necklaces

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Got 100 of the Orange Necklaces to pass out for Halloween instead of candy. They were a huge hit with the neighborhood! Had a couple direct “thank you’s” from some parents of children who cannot eat candy and by the end of the evening you hear kids coming up the walk saying “cool, this is the house with the glow necklaces” (most of the people wandering the neighborhood had theirs on by then!). Had to turn away some sad older kids by the end when we ran out! We’ll definitely be doing the same next year (but will order a few more!). (more…)

Glow Necklace Youth Fundraiser in Denmark, Maine

Monday, July 20th, 2009

We had this recent comment from a customer in Denmark, Maine.

Thank you for the great service, wonderful product and honest pricing. We had our annual Concert in the Park and fireworks this past weekend and our church youth group decided to sell glow necklaces as a way to earn some money for a couple of projects they wanted to do. They purchased 200 assorted glow necklaces to raise $100 for some projects they wanted to do and did it in a way that everyone at the event enjoyed. The parents liked them better than a sugary treat, and it helped make the whole event that much more memorable for all! (more…)

Prompt Delivery for Capture the Flag

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I just wanted to leave a comment, feedback, if you would. I just wanted to say I was extremely impressed both with the speedy mail service of my product (50 blue and 50 yellow necklaces and 25 assorted glow sticks) and the very affordable price tag that went with it! Thank you! I have recommended you to friends of mine who have asked me how much the price was to run our little All Campus (night) Capture The Flag event. When I tell them the total price (around $60 total, including extra amenities needed) the were impressed as well! Thank you for making it all possible!

What is the shelf life of glow products?

How to Keep Unused Glow Toys Longer
Have you wondered before how long your glow sticks will last? The old trick is to slow the chemical reaction within the glow product by freezing it. But, some people have asked another question: how long will the unused glow toy last in the package? Did you know that studies have shown that if the original outer foil wrapper has not been damaged or the product removed from the wrapper, the products have a shelf life of one to four years, depending on the product. All industrial glow light sticks are expiration date stamped. Some novelty products are also date stamped.
